  • Introduction to multiple drawing

By : Categories : Blog,Industry Comment: Comments Off on Introduction to multiple drawing

As we all know, when drawing, stamping and drawing products sometimes need to go through multiple drawing processes. Of course, it is better to stretch them once as much as possible. . These tensile forming processes can be divided into several types: tensile processing,’re tensile processing, thinning tensile processing, reverse tensile processing. Please refer to the introduction of these multi-drawing processes by stamping and drawing manufacturers below. 1. Tightening treatment: use the plate pressing device and the punching force of the punch to pull some or all of the flat materials into the cavity of the female die, so that it can form a bottomed container. The side wall of the container is parallel to the stretching direction, which is a simple stretching process. Some need to be expanded to form.

    1. Redrawing: that is, for products that cannot be finished by deep drawing, semi-formed products after deep drawing need to be stretched again to increase the depth of the formed container.
    2. Reverse stretching process: reverse stretching the parts stretched in the previous process, the inner side of the workpiece becomes the outer side, and the outer diameter decreases.
    3. Thinning and stretching process: extrude the formed container into the cavity of the die slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the container with a punch, so that the outer diameter of the container with a bottom becomes smaller and the wall thickness becomes thinner, eliminating the deviation of the wall thickness, and making the surface of the container smooth

Chip jumping of metal stamping die refers to the phenomenon that the sheet metal jumps to the die surface at the edge after blanking in the high-speed production die. As one of the common undesirable phenomena of metal stamping parts, chip jumping is caused for many reasons. Some are caused by improper mold design, some are caused by poor materials and stamping operators. Next, we will analyze the specific causes of chip jumping of the metal mold.
The first reason is that the punch or other parts of the stamping die metal have abnormal scratches or damage, resulting in small scrap materials. This is mainly because the punch has no corresponding structure when it needs to exert excessive effect on the material.
The second reason is that the blade gap of the metal stamping die is too large and the design of the blade gap is unreasonable. Reasonable clearance accounts for 4-6% of the material thickness. In the normal operation of metal stamping die, due to the frequent reciprocating friction between the sheet metal and the blade, the internal wear of the blade causes excessive clearance of the blade.
The third reason is that the raw materials have been surface treated before stamping, and there is unstructured fusion between the surface treatment layer and the surface treatment layer. The material will cause separation and blanking at the edge of the material.
Another reason is that the metal stamping die of the punch has magnetism, which generates suction on the plate and causes the chip to jump.

  • Stamping Die Components

By : Categories : Blog,Industry Comment: Comments Off on Stamping Die Components

Stamping die is usually composed of fixed die and movable die. The fastener is fixed to the press table with a clamping plate and screw, which is called the lower die. The movable part is fixed to the sliding block of the punch, i.e. the upper die. Then the upper die moves up and down with the sliding block for stamping.
Different components can be divided into 5 categories according to their functions:
    1. Working parts: Working die parts are used for stamping, which can directly deform and separate sheet metal parts to obtain stamping parts. Such as punch blade, die blade, punch matrix, etc.
    2. Test piece: The function of the pilot element is to control the feed direction and feed pitch of raw materials, and to ensure the correct position of the raw material plate of the die. Such as pins, positioning pins, guide pins, pin pins, pin plates, side clamping plates, etc.
    3. Pressing, stripping and lifting parts: These stamping die parts are designed to ensure that stamping parts and waste materials can be discharged from the die after each stamping, so that the next production can proceed smoothly. For example: stripper, revamp, waste blade, etc.
    4. Guide Components: These stamping die components are used to ensure the correct direction of the upper and lower dies in the relative movement process, so that the punch and female die inserts have a uniform gap, thus improving the quality of stamping parts.
    5. Installation of fastening components: The function of these progressive die components is to connect the above four types of stamping die components together to ensure that the relative position of each die component is correct and that the die can be installed on the punch. .
Of course, this is not to say that each stamping die should have more than 5 die components. Once the stamping die is used for prototype or small batch production, to shorten the validation time and save cost, sometimes it could simplify the stamping die structure, which only has working components, stripping components and several fastened components. But for high volume mass production tools, except for the above 5 types of die components, there will be additional automatic feeding and ejection devices added to the stamping die, which can ensure the quality of the stamping part and increase the production efficiency rate and tool life time.

  • Types of Deep Drawing Processing

By : Categories : Blog,Industry Comment: Comments Off on Types of Deep Drawing Processing

Generally speaking, a metal stamping manufacturer will divide the deep drawing process into four parts: deep drawing,’re drawing, reverse drawing and thinning&deep drawing.

Drawing process: use the punching force of the flat plate device and the punch to pull part or all of the flat plate into the cavity of the female die to form a bottomed container.

Re-drawing: In order to increase the depth of the forming container, it is necessary to re-draw the finished products after drawing.

Reverse drawing process: reverse drawing the workpiece drawn in the previous process, then the inner part of the workpiece becomes the outer part, and the outer diameter becomes smaller.

Thinning and deep drawing: extrude the formed container into a concave cavity slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the container with a punch, so that the outer diameter of the container and the bottom becomes smaller.

  • Metal Deep Drawing Process

By : Categories : Blog,Industry Comment: Comments Off on Metal Deep Drawing Process

Drawing is a process of forming metal sheets into cylindrical or box shapes by stamping, circular drawing or metal forming. Usually, deep drawing is carried out on the wrinkle proof plate of the double action press, which can effectively prevent the raised edge from wrinkling when it is pulled into the mold. Unlike other drawing processes, the drawing depth can exceed the original diameter of the blank.
Under the pressure of the press, the drawing die is used to process flat blank or hollow process parts into open hollow parts. It is one of the basic stamping processes. It can not only process rotary parts, but also process thin-walled parts with complex shapes such as box parts.
Dyeing can be divided into non-dyeing and dyeing. The wall thickness of the front parts is basically unchanged compared to the blank before drawing. Compared with the sheet before drawing, the wall thickness of the sheet after drawing has obvious changes. This kind of thinning is required by the product, and the features of the part are thick bottom and thin walls. In practical production, continuous thin drawing is widely used.
The die used for drawing is called the drawing die. The structure of the drawing die is relatively simple. Compared to the blanking die, the working part has a larger fillet. High surface quality requirements. The clearance between the punch and the die is slightly greater than the thickness of the sheet.

  • Sheet Metal Stamping Process

By : Categories : Industry Comment: Comments Off on Sheet Metal Stamping Process

The sheet metal stamping process is to press the hot-rolled or cold-rolled steel plate into the shape required for manufacturing parts. This technology allows a large number of parts to be produced at the same time, but it can also lead to the scrapping of about 15% of raw materials. This kind of equipment used in this method requires less space than other methods. Therefore, if your space is limited, this type of manufacturing may be the most suitable for your business. When selecting the sheet metal stamping method, three types of dies are mainly used – cutting, punching and bending.

Cutting includes cutting a part from a metal plate. This is done by striking the metal plate with the mold, which cuts it into the desired shape. The edges of stamping parts will have burrs, so they need to be drilled or machined before use.

Stamping is the process of placing a metal plate between two molds and pressing them together to make a hole in the metal plate.

Bending is the use of die pressure to deform the metal. This type of stamping is usually used to make parts with curves.

  • Considerations for Deep Drawn Stamping

By : Categories : Blog,Industry Comment: Comments Off on Considerations for Deep Drawn Stamping

When considering deep drawing to meet your manufacturing needs, you should pay attention to the following points:

Reduce material waste: compared to other metal forming processes, deep drawing uses more base materials, significantly reducing material waste.

Measurement is critical: it is not only important to ensure accurate mold dimensions, but also important to consider material thickness and required measurement values. Incorrect measurement will lead to thin walls and inaccurate dimensions.

Draft and Taper: Due to the basic manufacturing process of deep drawing, some drafts and tapers at the top of the part are unavoidable. This should be considered at the initial design stage.

Different material thicknesses: Deep drawing parts usually have different thicknesses, with thinner walls and thicker bases. This can be mitigated by tools after the wire drawing process is completed.
